Most of the employed individuals in the sector have completed primary school or less, indicating a prevalence of elementary occupations. However, there are also opportunities for those with higher levels of education. The sector mainly consists of service and sales workers, while craft and trade jobs have a smaller representation. Informal establishments dominate the sector, and most enterprises are owned by Rwandans, with micro enterprises being the majority. Job security is relatively low, as most workers are self-employed without regular employees. The sector shows a slight gender imbalance, with a higher proportion of females employed
